The Sacred Oak Way is my Life’s Work

A new global approach to reclaiming learning - not as schooling, but as life lived deeply.

Children learn through:

  • nature immersion

  • real-world projects

Each child witnessed in their brilliance, given personalized pathways and chances to deepen their interests in personal projects and collaborations.

Trauma-informed.
Nervous-system-informed.
Conscious parenting woven into daily life.

Responsibility for self the foundation of everything we do. It is our duty honours to do the inner work so our children don’t have to carry the burdens of our passed on trauma.

We reclaim learning.
We reclaim passion.
We reclaim time for our own projects.

When the children are held by the village, we are freed to create.

I am Amy.

I am the Founder of The Sacred Oak Way and the Vision Holder.

The Director of the Learning Ecology.

The Weaver of this ecosystem.

This Way has been shaped by my lived experience, my education and motherhood. I’ve travelled, searched and listened in over 30 countries, watching where children thrive and where they quietly disappear. I’ve toured many educational alternatives, homeschool cooperatives, and have observed their ways.

I’ve spent over a decade in traditional classrooms, founded an alternative school and hosted homeschool children in my home. I’ve instructed educators in a college setting and most recently have been providing academic research on Global Educational Philosophies, STEM, Indigenous Ways of Knowing and Child Development. For the past 8 years, much of my spare time has been spent learning about the nervous system, trauma informed care, neurodivergence, global parenting approaches, and conscious parenting.

The Sacred Oak Way answers the question I have been seeking.

It provides A New Way. Learning not out-sourced and instead follows a living framework. A new global educational model that brings learning back to the family unit and to the Village. We all participate, gifts and strengths from within the community weaving together a responsive, enriching Life giving pathway for each month.

What I am Calling In:

Land

I am seeking a stewarded property - rich land with room to breathe, build, and root.

Land that can hold:

  • sovereignty over food and daily life

  • space to grow gardens, orchards, and shared food systems

  • access to water - rivers, springs, rain or all of the above

  • wildness, quiet, and deep nature

  • shared commons and personal privacy

We imagine a place where:

  • families have homes we can live in now, or space to land while we build

  • future homes are created slowly, by hand, together

  • children move freely between nature and the Children’s World

  • adults can exhale, create, and steward with intention

Each family is responsible for their own financial sustainability while we are sharing infrastructure and vision, allowing for limitless future shared abundance and growth.

We are open to:

  • existing communities wanting us to build The Sacred Oak Way within their community

  • ong-term stewardship agreements

  • phased building and unfolding

  • creative structures that serve the whole

What matters most is alignment, integrity, and long-term commitment.

The land itself must want this.

We are open to anywhere in the world -
though we hold a deep love for Costa Rica and land with water, warmth, and life.

We don’t need everything figured out to begin.

We begin now, aligned in values and aligned in Ways.

Facilitators

We are calling in Facilitators, also known as investors, to help bring the Children’s World of Sacred Oak Village into form.

This is not a school build.
It is the creation of a rich learning environment - a living ecology designed intentionally around children.

At the heart of Sacred Oak is a deep commitment to environment as teacher.

The Children’s World includes:

  • global-inspired ateliers (Anji-style play spaces, Reggio-inspired studios)

  • movement and warrior zones

  • natural building and bushcraft areas

  • a STEM lab with rotating materials and experiments

  • art, making, and tinkering spaces

  • treehouses and outdoor creative worlds

  • materials that are real, beautiful, and worthy of trust

We believe rich environments and meaningful materials are not extras - they are foundational.

Facilitators help fund the build of these spaces and materials so children can move, explore, create, and learn through real life.

Aligned Families

We are calling in aligned families.

Families who feel the pull toward a different way of living - not because they are running from something, but because they are walking toward what feels true.

Families who:

  • want to reclaim sovereignty over food, learning, and daily life

  • feel ready to live in community without losing themselves

  • value nature, rhythm, and real presence

  • understand that parenting is a sacred responsibility

  • are willing to do their own inner work

  • want their children to grow surrounded by multiple caring adults

  • feel excitement in building something together rather than consuming what already exists

These are families who don’t need perfection or certainty - but who value integrity, communication, and repair.
