A living experiment in conscious parenting, shared care & creative, passionate lives.
Parenting as a sacred passage.
Children held as whole.
Adults in their fullest expression.
Let’s build this community together.
Many of us carry a collective dream.
Of old ways, carried forward with new wisdom.
Of children held in community.
Of adults taking responsibility for their own healing.
Of life shared - meals, rivers, grief, celebration, creativity, and care.
This is where that dream is beginning to take shape.
Five Pillars of Sacred Oak
Five Pillars of Sacred Oak
The Way of the Child
Child-centered, personalized, and responsive learning where each child’s unique essence is honored.
Children explore, play, and grow through experiences that nurture curiosity, confidence, and creativity.
Conscious Adult Leadership
Adults honor their own journeys, taking responsibility for themselves, and gather in women’s and men’s circles, growing together in their capacity to hold space for themselves, one another, and children.
They model integrity, care, and guidance in the life of the village
Village & Shared Life
Restoring village living through intentional relationships, shared responsibility, and everyday life lived together.
Within the village, children participate in rites of passage and meaningful challenges that help them grow strong in mind, body, and spirit.
Creativity as a Way of Life
Creativity is woven into daily life as a natural expression for children and adults alike.
Play, imagination, and exploration are valued as essential ways of learning, connecting, and expressing the self.
Nature, Reciprocity & Stewardship
Living in right relationship with the Earth - learning from nature, caring for the land, and giving back to the web of life with gratitude and responsibility.
What I Believe
I believe parenting is a sacred honor - and a sacred passage.
That adults are responsible for their own nervous systems, their own healing, and their own inner work - so children don’t have to carry what isn’t theirs.
That children arrive whole.
With a unique essence.
With their own timing, curiosities, and ways of unfolding.
They don’t need to be controlled or managed.
They need presence, space, responsiveness, rich materials, and regulated adults who know how to listen.
The Heart of the Village: Children
Right now, the heart of this work begins with the children.
I’ve joined forces with Wild Haven, who are already holding this center so beautifully.
Together, we are:
Holding children as sacred
Creating environments that support regulation, creativity, and confidence
Offering enrichment that responds to who children actually are
Building frameworks slowly, with integrity and care
We are not rushing this.
We are allowing it to grow in rhythm.
“Just as the acorn contains the mighty oak tree,
the Self has everything it needs to fulfill its destiny.”
— Wayne Dyer
Read My Journal: The Sacred Pursuit
My journey toward remembering a different way to live, learn, and raise children.
For more than a decade I’ve been navigating education, family life, and community - inside classrooms in Canada, across three continents, and finally here in the jungle of Costa Rica. Through it all there was a persistent question simmering beneath everything: This isn’t it - but what is?
In The Sacred Pursuit, I share the long path that led me from traditional systems into real-life exploration - how I watched models that promised freedom leave me yearning for deeper belonging, and how eventually everything I was looking for showed up within the journey itself.
This piece is:
A personal story of exploration & discovery
Reflections on alternative education and parenting
A manifesto of sorts for the work now unfolding here
Honest and rooted in lived experience
If you’re curious about how all of this began - the questions, the travels, the stumbles, and the aha moments - this is where it lives.
The Dream
Dreaming of shared land one day.
Of shared gardens and healing spaces.
Of neighboring homes connected by jungle trails.
Of children racing together to Wild Haven in the morning.
Of sisters making soup.
Of shared meals and potlucks.
Of river swims and dances.
Of honoring sacred passages - birth, adolescence, death - together.
Of adults supporting one another’s dreams and deepest expressions.
Of creativity and passion as a way of life.
Of growing in abundance alongside one another.
This is not a finished village.
This is:
A group of families choosing to show up differently
Children being held with reverence
A frequency of creativity, presence, and possibility woven into daily life
This is a calling for families who feel the Remembering.
Who know that something about modern life isn’t working - and aren’t looking for a quick fix.
Who are willing to:
Take responsibility for their own healing
Parent consciously and with humility
Let children unfold in their own way
Build community slowly and honestly
Create something together, not consume something finished
If you’re looking for certainty, systems, or perfection - this probably isn’t it.
If you’re longing for connection, integrity, and shared becoming - you might belong here.
An Invitation
An Invitation
I’m not building this alone.
I’m calling in aligned families who want to weave something real - step by step, with care.
If this resonates, stay close.
Let’s see what wants to grow.
Come for a period of 1 month or stay longer and join in the full experience. We can help you find a rental while we hold the dream of our future Village.
Sacred Oak is beginning in person with a pilot season in Chirripó, Costa Rica, at the learning village hub called Wild Haven - a place of mountains, jungle, rivers, and real life. This first season is an invitation to grow alongside us as we bring The Sacred Oak Way into lived experience.

Do you want to be part of the next steps?
We are beginning to build our first rich learning environment in Chirripó in collaboration with Wild Haven - the physical space that holds and supports the children day to day. We are in the space of dreaming and building while we call in the right supports.
We are beginning modestly and slowly.
Using the resources we have.
Allowing for it to unfold.
Beginning with one space at a time, every area will be intentionally designed as an invitation, not an instruction. The spaces themselves will support autonomy, regulation, creativity, and real-world skill building.
Rooted in global educational philosophies - Montessori, Reggio Emilia, Anji Play, Forest School, and land-based learning - we wish for our environments will be designed to offer children rich experiences, engaging materials, and meaningful mentorship.
We believe the space itself is a teacher. Children are trusted with real tools, real choice, and real responsibility, within environments that support autonomy, creativity, regulation, and deep learning.
